We started dancing together
Years of training and performance helped us build a strong understanding of movement, musicality and partnership.
We are Bogdan Voicu and Ana Dima, the professional dance partners and teachers behind First Dance London and First Dance Courses. Our goal is to make learning your first dance feel clear, personal and genuinely enjoyable.
Our courses are built from years of professional dancing, teaching complete beginners and helping couples feel comfortable during one of the most personal moments of their wedding day.
Dancing and teaching together
We began dancing together in 2010 and built our partnership through years of training, performing and competing internationally.
In 2016, we reached the quarterfinals of the European Latin Championships. The experience taught us discipline, attention to detail and how small adjustments can completely transform the way a movement feels.
After moving to London, our focus gradually shifted towards teaching. Through First Dance London, we have helped hundreds of couples prepare for their weddings, including many who were convinced that they could not dance.
First Dance Courses allows us to bring the same structured and supportive approach online, so couples can learn privately at home while still benefiting from professional guidance.
“Your dance should look polished, but it should still feel like the two of you rather than a performance you have been forced to memorise.
Years of training and performance helped us build a strong understanding of movement, musicality and partnership.
Competing internationally developed the technical knowledge and detailed approach that now supports our teaching.
We developed a practical teaching system created specifically for couples with little or no dance experience.
Our online courses make the same beginner-friendly approach available to couples learning together from home.
Our teaching is designed around what real couples need, rather than what professional dancers are expected to know.
We explain each movement clearly and avoid complicated dance terminology. Nothing is assumed and every lesson builds from the foundations.
Your first dance should reflect your personalities. We focus on helping you look comfortable and connected rather than making every movement technically perfect.
Each course is divided into short chapters. You learn one section, practise it and only move forward when it begins to feel familiar.
We consider your venue, footwear, wedding clothes, available practice space and the fact that nerves can affect how you move on the day.
Choose the course that best suits your song and learn together through clear, supportive lessons created for complete beginners.
